2019 Winter/Spring Sewing

OUR MISSION IS TO SHOW OUR LOVE OF GOD BY REACHING OUT TO OUR COMMUNITY WITH THE SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE  OF SEWING AND SEWING TECHNIQUES.

Calvary Baptist Church started our sewing ministry in September 2011.  As we were getting started, we were blessed with many donations of fabric, supplies, sewing machines, and sewing tools. Our teachers volunteer their time, knowledge and talents.   These donations allowed us to offer our classes at no charge to our students.

Over the past 7-1/2 years, donations have continued to pour in and are greatly appreciated. This allows us to continue offering free classes. Today, we offer sewing classes, project classes and clubs to members of our community who are 8 years of age or older. Our Craft Club offers children, starting at age 3, the chance to develop their artistic skills.

We provide a fun atmosphere where you can learn sewing skills that can last a life time. Once you learn the basics, you will want to take more advanced classes and learn more skills.

The Beginning Sewing Machine Skills class provides free pre-cut project kits. Some of our advanced classes and/or clubs may require the student to provide their own fabric and/or notions.

Students are encouraged to bring their own sewing machines, if they have one, and they will be taught to use it.  This is not a requirement. We have some machines on site.

All new students are required to take the Beginning Sewing Machine Skills Class, after which students are encouraged to enroll in other classes or clubs that are posted on our web page.
